Banner Parade

This is the Banner of the village colliery which closed in 1962,it’s out on its way to Durham Big Meeting,a tradition in our county capital where the mining communities of the area get together once a year, assembling in Durham city.Sadly the collieries are no more, and its now known as the Durham miners gala attended by tens of thousands of people as a celebration of the county’s coalmining heritage.iso 200 1/125 f11 however this was with my D300,not my “blogging” D70s
